Organization Description

World Medical Mission (WMM) is a ministry of the nondenominational evangelical Christian organization Samaritan's Purse. The two-fold purpose of this division is to minister to the physical needs of the sick and suffering while sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. As part of the larger scope of Samaritan's Purse programs, WMM offers hope and restoration to patients, addressing material, social, and spiritual poverty.

WMM began its ministry by sending healthcare professionals (HCPs) on short-term assignments to serve struggling mission hospitals in developing countries. Since its genesis, WMM has blossomed by incredible measures. Their two-year post-residency programs provide further training for Christian physicians and deploy biomedical technicians and surgical subspecialty teams to partner with hospitals to offer much-needed surgical operations, medical equipment, and specialized training for local HCPs.

Gail Gambill is the manager of the Global Post-Residency Program at World Medical Mission, Samaritan's Purse International Headquarters, which is located in Boone, North Carolina. She has served with WMM for the last 15 years. She currently networks with over 14 partner mission hospitals and their communities in 11 different countries.
